Lumbini Lions sign long-term partnership with Extratech Oval Cricket Ground, Bhairahawa

BHAIRAHAWA: Lumbini Lions and Extratech Oval Cricket Ground in Bhairahawa have entered into a long-term partnership. Under the agreement, the ground will serve as the franchise’s official home and training facility.

The agreement was signed by Binod Kunwar, representing Extratech Oval, and Ishwar GC, Chairman of Lumbini Lions. Under the terms, Extratech Oval will host training sessions, practice matches, coaching camps and strategic planning meetings for Lumbini Lions, and will stage the team’s home matches for the Nepal Premier League and other national and international tournaments in the coming years.

Lumbini Lions Chairman GC said, "Extratech Oval is not just a ground for us; it is the home of Lumbini Lions and will become our identity accordingly, and the foundation of our preparation and journey. We want to convey our special thanks to the Extra Over team, they are doing such tremendous work through private investment, and from our side, we have joined to encourage and become partners with them. We believe this will contribute greatly not only to Lumbini but to the overall development of Nepali cricket, and accordingly, we are making a collective commitment to take Nepali cricket to greater heights."

Extratech Oval Founder Kunwar said, "This partnership will strengthen us further in the direction of developing world-class cricket facilities in Nepal, and it is our shared belief that this agreement will deliver a positive message for cricket development in Nepal and Lumbini Province."

Extratech Oval will provide the main oval, practice nets, pitches, floodlights, ground maintenance equipment and a clubhouse, enabling year-round professional-level training and preparation for the team.

The agreement is expected to create new opportunities for long-term cricket and player development in Lumbini Province, positioning the region as a key hub for the sport in Nepal.
