KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has marked its 31st anniversary with a series of nationwide community programmes, which continue to benefit customers and local communities.
As part of week‑long celebrations in May, the bank honoured women entrepreneurs through programmes organised across its branch network. The honours were conferred with the objective of bringing recipients into the mainstream of financial access, economic development, social progress and gender equality, and the bank says the initiative is intended to promote entrepreneurship.

The anniversary activities also included a large blood donation programme at 10 branch offices and at the bank’s central office, which collected 320 pints of blood. The drives were organised to help ease blood management, a continuing challenge in the health sector, and are presented by the bank as a direct community benefit for customers and residents.
Employees at the central office, provincial offices and branch offices attended work wearing traditional dress to highlight the country’s geographical and cultural diversity, with displays of the respective attire presented at offices.
