KATHMANDU: Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI) organised a corporate screening of the film 'Paran' to mark its 32nd anniversary. The company invited employees and their families to Civil Mall in Sundhara last Tuesday.
The company said the screening succeeded in touching many hearts, reflecting Nepal's social context and the story of every household. The collective event was intended as a commemorative occasion and an opportunity for staff to celebrate together.
"It is a positive thing in itself for all employees to sit together and watch a film on the occasion of the anniversary; 'Paran' provided that opportunity after years," said Shristina Manandhar, Head of the company's Human Resource Management Department. "Watching the film collectively created a sense of belonging and a family atmosphere; this also helps develop a spirit of cooperation and coordination among employees."

Becoming emotional after the screening, assistant at the company, Rupa Deuba, said, "In the current times, Nepali society needs such message-oriented films; it felt like the story of my own home, and the acting of the artists is excellent." Subindra Shrestha of the General Service Department, Logistics, added that the performance of senior artist Neer Shah and the story "won his heart."
Director Deepak Prasad Acharya and actress Anjana Baraili also attended the corporate show.
The film 'Paran' centres on a father seeking the companionship and love of his children in the later stages of life, encapsulating a family story rooted in Nepali society.
