KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal today held a meeting at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) with the heads of the regulatory bodies of the banking and financial sector.
The meeting was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Biswo Nath Poudel, Nepal Insurance Authority Chairperson Chandrakala Paudel and Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Khanal expressed his gratitude for the role played by the regulatory bodies in maintaining macroeconomic stability, creating a suitable environment for investment, making the capital market transparent and investment‑friendly, and ensuring good economic governance during his tenure as Finance Minister, according to the MoF spokesperson Tanka Prasad Panday.
The heads of the regulatory bodies said their collaboration with the Finance Minister had been productive and expressed appreciation for the policies and guidelines adopted by the MoF to strengthen Nepal’s banking and financial sector, maintain financial discipline and organise the overall economic system.
It is said that the views were exchanged on the stability of the banking and financial sector, enhancing investment, the transparency of the financial system and the development of the capital market.
