Xiaomi launches entry-level REDMI A7 in Nepali market

KATHMANDU: Xiaomi has launched the entry-level smartphone REDMI A7 in the Nepali market. The device is now available at a retail price of Rs 15,999.

The REDMI A7 features a 6.88-inch LCD display with 450 nits of brightness, DC dimming to reduce eye strain, and support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi said the handset has a sleek and refined design and that the device is medium-to-lightweight, weighing 193 grams with dimensions of 171.79 mm x 77.8 mm x 8.26 mm.

The phone is available in a 3GB + 64GB configuration and supports memory extension of an additional 3GB, effectively increasing usable memory up to 6GB. It is powered by a 5,200 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging, features Xiaomi says are intended to support extended daily use.

For photography, the REDMI A7 is equipped with a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front camera. Xiaomi said the cameras offer reliable performance in low-light conditions and are suitable for portrait and handheld shots. The device also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Security features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. The phone will be offered in Black, Sky Blue and Orchid Purple colour options and comes with a two-year warranty.
