KATHMANDU: The government on Friday released 150 decisions taken by the Council of Ministers at meetings held in the months of Baisakh and Jestha.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, announced the decisions at a press conference in Kathmandu and said the items covered approvals, policy measures and administrative actions taken on various dates.
Among the decisions made on June 12, the Cabinet granted permission for the capacity expansion of the national identity management system and allowed the Mid‑Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project an extension of time to reimburse land used from the forest sector.
The June 9 meeting produced 16 decisions, including endorsement of recommendation criteria for the Nepal Administrative Staff College, 2083, and approval in principle for the formulation of draft legislation on the Nepal Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering Institute and on human burn control and punishment.
On June 2, the Cabinet agreed to form a recommendation committee, coordinated by the Home Ministry secretary, to oversee the appointment of the executive chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The government also prohibited strikes and sit‑ins in essential services.
The Cabinet meeting on May 19 approved the Civil Servants Welfare Fund (First Amendment), 2083; sanctioned 977 quotas under the Ministry of Health and Food Safety; approved the Land Related Rules (21st Amendment), 2083; and endorsed the Child Regulation (First Amendment), 2083.
Spokesperson Pokharel said the full list of decisions covered a wide range of administrative and regulatory matters and would be made available to the public.
