RASUWA: Visitor numbers at Langtang National Park have fallen in the current fiscal year compared with the previous year, leading to a corresponding drop in revenue, park officials said.
Data from the park administration shows the park welcomed nearly 56,000 tourists in the previous fiscal year. So far in the current year, the total stands at 50,360, comprising 39,011 domestic visitors, 788 from SAARC countries and 10,561 from other nations.
The decline in arrivals has reduced income from visitors. Revenue last year amounted to Rs 57.7 million; to date this year, collections total Rs 42.8 million, park information officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said.
The Langtang region, which includes the well‑known tourist and religious site Gosaikunda, attracts both foreign and domestic visitors. Revenue from tourism is being used for park protection, biodiversity management, and to support local livelihoods.
