KANCHANPUR: Visitor numbers at Shuklaphanta National Park have risen in the current fiscal year, park officials reported.
A total of 4,191 tourists visited the park between the start of the fiscal year on July 17, 2025 and the current reporting period, an increase of 469 from 3,722 in the previous year. The rise represents a growth of about 12.6% in arrivals.
Park information officer Purushottam Wagle said 1,657 women and 2,534 men visited Shuklaphanta from Asoj to Asar this year. Domestic visitors account for the majority, with 3,699 Nepali tourists — 1,513 women and 2,186 men — making up roughly 88% of the total.
Foreign visitors remain fewer in number but have grown gradually. The park recorded 358 tourists from SAARC countries, including 87 women and 271 men, and 156 tourists from other countries, including 57 women and 99 men.
