Finance Committee holds discussions on bill to amend Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058

KATHMANDU: Finance Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) held discussions on Sunday with representatives of stakeholders over a bill to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058.

Committee secretary Laxman Aryal said officials from the Nepal Bankers' Association and the Confederations of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) were invited to the meeting. Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Nepal Rastra Bank also attended.

The government registered the bill in the Federal Parliament on 2 June. The Finance Ministry said the bill had been drafted to further strengthen the country’s monetary and financial systems and to make them more reliable and compatible with the times.
