Jagdamba Motors launches Proton e.MAS 5 in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Jagdamba Motors, the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, launched the all-new Proton e.MAS 5 at a ceremony in Kathmandu on Monday. 

Serving as Proton's second electric vehicle in Nepal, the compact electric SUV broadens the brand's electric mobility offering for urban driving and everyday use.

The e.MAS 5 won Electric Compact Vehicle of the Year 2026 at Malaysia’s Allianz DSF Vehicle of the Year Awards. The model is fitted with a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 32 storage compartments, a 70-litre front boot (frunk) and an expandable 375-litre rear luggage compartment suitable for city commutes and longer journeys.

The unveiling was attended by representatives from the Embassy of Malaysia in Nepal, industry stakeholders, business partners, members of the media, automotive journalists, influencers and other distinguished guests.

Following Proton’s strategic partnership with Geely in 2017, the company has expanded its international operations and the e.MAS line has grown into Malaysia’s leading electric vehicle brand while entering global markets, including Nepal.

The Proton e.MAS 5 is offered in two variants, Prime and Premium. Jagdamba Motors announced special introductory pricing of Rs 2.999 million for the Prime variant and Rs 3.499 million for the Premium variant; these introductory rates are reserved for the first 100 customers. Reservations are now open at Proton showrooms across Nepal.
