President Paudel visits Nuwakot to assess situation following devastating floods

NUWAKOT: President Ramchandra Paudel visited Nuwakot on Monday to assess the situation after devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems.

During the visit, the President reviewed search and rescue operations, the distribution of humanitarian aid, the operation of holding centres and rehabilitation work under way in the affected areas. He received updates from Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi and committee members on the loss of life and damage to property in the district.

President Paudel also visited a holding centre at the covered hall in Bidur Municipality-2, where he spoke with people displaced by the floods from Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Survivors urged the government and other agencies to speed up search and rescue efforts, relief distribution and rehabilitation measures.
