United States to provide $31m assistance to Nepal
KATHMANDU: The United States is set to provide $31 million in assistance to Nepal.
The announcement was made by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker during a meeting on Wednesday with Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, who is currently in New York attending the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Under Secretary Hooker stated that $10 million of the fund is designated for post-flood reconstruction efforts. A further $8 million will go towards drinking water, sanitation, housing, and livelihoods for flood-affected communities.
