Khatiwada appointed Finance Minister

Former Governor and Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission, Dr Yuvaraj Khatiwada has been appointed Finance Minister under the newly formed government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli . Khatiwada is being referred as the best candidate for the finance portfolio given his expertise in the sector and his reputation as one of country’s most experienced economists. However he also has a lot of challenges to tackle with the economy in a fragile state. The first decision he made soon after assuming office was to make all the government transactions electronic.
