
KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra has arrived in Kathmandu today on a two-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the Indian Foreign Secretary will make an official visit to Nepal from February 13 to 14.

A team from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Foreign Secretary Paudyal welcomed Indian Foreign Secretary Kwatra at Tribhuvan Internation Airport this morning.
During the visit, Foreign Secretary duo Poudyal and Kwatra will discuss on several aspects of multi-dimensional collaboration between Nepal and India.
On the occasion, they will discuss several issues of bilateral cooperation, including connectivity, power trade, agriculture, health and culture, the ministry in a statement said.
This is the first standalone visit of Kwatra to Nepal after he assumed the charge of foreign secretary. Previously, he served as Indian Ambassador to Nepal.
According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and the priority India attaches to its relations with Nepal under its 'Neighbourhood First' policy. Nepal and India have civilisational and historical relations.
Meanwhile, various infrastructure and cross-border connectivity projects accomplished with Indian assistance have further strengthened the bilateral collaboration between the two countries.
It is expected that the Indian Foreign Secretary's visit would create further opportunities to enhance the persisting bilateral relations between Nepal and India to a new height.
