KATHMANDU: Department of Industry (DoI) has recently published a report detailing the approval of 15 new foreign direct investments (FDIs) from January 15, 2024, to February 12, 2024.
This figure, however, represents a decrease of 12 from the previous report. The total number of FDIs approved for the current fiscal year now stands at 241.

During the review period, the FDI commitment reached a sum of Rs 345 million. The total FDI commitment amount was Rs 22.68 billion. These ventures are projected to generate employment for 12,692 individuals.

In terms of industry categorisation by investment, all 15 ventures have been approved in the small-scale industries sector. In the first seven months, there are 226 projects in the pipeline within this sector. There have been no changes observed in the medium-scale (12) and large-scale industries (3).
