KATHMANDU: Ncell Foundation has joined hands with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) as its partner for Seep Mela 2082 (Skill Fair 2025), the largest skill development initiative of KMC.
This strategic collaboration aims to train individuals in practical, market-driven skills across diverse sectors, thereby enhancing their employability and fostering sustainable livelihoods in line with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles.
A memorandum of understanding was signed and exchanged during a programme organised by KMC on Wednesday, marking a collective commitment to empower young people through practical skills and training.

On behalf of KMC, the MoU was signed by Shailendra Jha, coordinator of the Skill Fair Management Committee at KMC, in the presence of a representative from Gatishil Nepal, the implementing partner for the Skill Fair. From Ncell, the MoU was signed by Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director of Ncell Foundation and Special Projects, and Dilli Shrestha, Director of Legal and Regulatory Services.
“At Ncell Foundation we recognise that skill enhancement is fundamental to improving employability and creating sustainable livelihoods. Through our partnership with KMC for Seep Mela, we are proud to support an initiative that equips individuals, especially young people, with the practical skills needed to thrive in today’s evolving job market,” said Khadka.
The fair, which started on May 21, is currently offering skill-based training to 2,424 individuals across 10 sectors covering 37 professions. These include in-demand areas such as cyber security, multimedia, programming languages (Dot Net, Java, PHP), digital marketing, artificial intelligence and its applications, drone and robotics technology, fibre optics, beauty and grooming, and electronics repair. Training also covers specialised skills aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities.
Special Ability Support Skill training is a new addition this year. Under this category, training is being conducted in two professions—housekeeping and care services. The housekeeping training is designed for facilitators working with children with hearing impairments, while the care service training is intended for facilitators of children with Down’s Syndrome and autism. In the electronics sector, the training includes laptop repair techniques, air conditioner and refrigerator repair, CCTV repair and mobile phone repair.
In the garments sector, training in garment fabrication and basic fashion design is being provided. Similarly, in the construction sector, training in electrician work, plumbing, masonry, welding and carpentry is imparted. In the hospitality sector, training is being conducted in four areas—barista, waiter, fast food and bakery.
In the automobile sector, training is available in three disciplines—electric vehicle (EV) maintenance, light vehicle engine repair, and the maintenance of both electric and fuel-powered motorcycles and scooters. Under the art and sculpture category, Thangka Painting and ceramics (terracotta) trainings are being offered, while additional training is provided in astrology and priesthood. In the agriculture sector, training in flower decoration is underway, and training relating to the stock market is also in progress.
This collaboration between Ncell Foundation and KMC reflects Ncell Foundation’s commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for young people and supporting initiatives that enhance skills for employability and sustainable development.
