Mainali elected president of Distributors’ Association of Nepal

KATHMANDU: Premhari Mainali has been unanimously elected as the president of Distributors’ Association of Nepal. The association’s 24th annual general meeting (AGM), which concluded on Saturday, elected a new executive committee under Mainali’s leadership.

Navaraj Dahal has been elected as senior vice president, Keshav Prasad Mainali as vice president, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina as general secretary, Ashok Kumar Kadel as secretary, Dineshman Risal as treasurer, and Ramesh Prajapati as co-treasurer. 

The association’s executive committee members are Binod Adhikari, Bhoj Prasad Phuyal (Umesh), Dipak Ghimire, Kapil Regmi, Nilkantha Dhakal, Ram Prasad Dhakal, Phanindra Khadka (Bikas), Rukesh Maharjan, Kiran Karki, Bhuvan Shrestha, Pravin Kumar Karmacharya, Santosh Paudel, Subodh Jha, Ganesh Karki, and Jayaram Lavaju. The association’s outgoing president, Ramahari Ghimire, will be an ex officio member.

The AGM was presided over by outgoing president Ghimire, while Santosh Chalise, a member of the House of Representatives and chairman of the Finance Committee, was the chief guest.

Mainali, who was elected president at the AGM, has expressed his gratitude to all the members who unanimously elected him. “I express my gratitude to all the friends who trusted me and unanimously elected me as president,” he said.

He has expressed his commitment to actively work in the field of the distribution business’s rights and interests, involving all executive committee members. He has committed to working on solving policy problems, including traffic and credit problems, by giving them the highest priority. Mainali said that consumer goods imported and produced in Nepal go to the market through distributors and that the contribution of distributors is important in making the economic sector dynamic. “The distribution business has made a positive contribution to making Nepal’s economic sector dynamic,” he said. “It is necessary for the state also to prioritise this business.”
