KATHMANDU: Diptee Acharya, Founder Director of Sanskriti International School, has been appointed International Curriculum Association (ICA) Ambassador for Nepal and the Asia‑Pacific region for the 2025–2026 term.
The ICA, which supports more than 1,000 schools in over 90 countries, said Acharya will represent the association across Nepal and neighbouring countries, promoting the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC).
The appointment recognises Acharya’s two decades of work in progressive education. Under Acharya’s leadership, Sanskriti International School became the first school in South Asia to receive IPC accreditation, a milestone the ICA said positions Acharya to mentor other schools and support quality implementation of international curricula across the region.
ICA Director Sarah Blackmore said, “We are delighted to recognise Diptee Acharya as an ICA Ambassador. Her unwavering commitment to high-quality learning and her pivotal role in establishing the International Curriculum in Nepal make her the ideal representative to guide and inspire our growing community of schools in the Asia‑Pacific region.”
Accepting the role, Acharya said, “I am deeply honoured to accept this responsibility. This role is not just a personal milestone but a testament to Nepal’s growing footprint in the global education landscape. I look forward to working with educators in Nepal and our neighbouring countries to build learning environments that are rigorous, holistic, and truly international. Our goal is to ensure that every child in our region has access to a world-class education that prepares them for the future.”
The ICA Ambassador programme selects experienced education leaders who have demonstrated a strong understanding and implementation of the ICA’s ‘Improving Learning’ philosophy. During the term, Acharya will focus on strengthening networks of international schools and promoting best practices in pedagogy and leadership.
Acharya is an AMI‑trained Montessorian with a master’s degree in Montessori education from the United States. In addition to her work at Sanskriti International School, Acharya has held senior district leadership roles in Toastmasters International, is active in social work, and is a member of the Zonta Club of Kathmandu, advocating for the rights and well‑being of women and children.
