KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and the Nepal Business Institute (NBI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly host 'Nepal Business Summit 2026' on May 18, 2026.
The MoU was signed on Thursday at the NICCI Secretariat in Narayanchaur, Naxal, by NICCI Vice-President Kunal Kayal and NBI Executive Chairperson Bishal Gaire.
The agreement formalises cooperation between the two organisations to stage the summit as a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening Nepal’s business ecosystem.
NICCI and NBI said the summit will feature panel discussions designed to bridge policy and practice and to move from ideation to implementation. The event is expected to produce consolidated recommendations aligned with international best practices.
Speaking at the signing, NICCI Vice-President Kayal expressed confidence that the summit would contribute to the development of 'a comprehensive roadmap for policy formulation and implementation, supporting Nepal’s broader goals of economic transformation and prosperity.'
Under the partnership, NICCI and NBI will work together to create platforms that promote both domestic and international business engagement, with an emphasis on positioning Nepal as an attractive destination for investment amid a stable government and a strong parliamentary majority.
The collaboration will also facilitate engagement among a wide range of stakeholders, including sector representatives, policymakers, bureaucrats, diplomats, business leaders, development partners and academics.
Representatives from both institutions said they were confident the partnership would be meaningful and productive and would contribute to Nepal’s long-term economic development.
