KATHMANDU: CG, a leading electronics and home appliance brand in Nepal, has added a premium drip coffee maker to its CG Meridia smart appliances line. The move comes as the country’s coffee culture continues to grow.
The company said the new model, CGMRCM02, aims to bring café-style brewed coffee into homes and offices, responding to rising demand and the need for hot beverages during the rainy season.
The launch follows CG’s earlier release of an espresso machine, which the company said was well received by Nepali consumers. CG noted that many people are moving beyond instant coffee and seeking brewing methods that highlight aroma and flavour, while drip brewing remains a popular, simple option for households and workplaces that need larger quantities at once.
The appliance features a 1.25 litre glass carafe with an easy-grip handle, allowing multiple servings for gatherings or meetings. It runs on 750 watts for faster brewing and includes a warming plate that keeps coffee hot for up to 40 minutes after preparation.
Additional functions include an anti-drip stop mechanism to prevent spills, an auto shut-off to save energy, and boil-dry protection for safety. The unit comes with a special filter and a coffee spoon to help users measure and brew more precisely, and is offered in a black and silver finish intended to suit modern kitchen and office décor.
The new drip coffee maker is available through 28 CG Digital and LG Brand Shop showrooms across the country, an authorised dealer network, and the online portal cgdigital.com.np. After-sales technical support will be provided through more than 40 CG Care service centres nationwide.
An official from CG Electronics said, “With the rapid development of coffee culture in Nepal, we are expanding our SDA portfolio to make consumers' kitchens smarter and more modern.” The company added that, under the slogan Experience Life with CG, it will continue bringing innovative smart appliances to the market to make daily life easier.
