LALITPUR: The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoEIA) held a Business Leaders’ Engagement Session in Lalitpur on Friday to strengthen partnerships between Nepal’s corporate sector and youth development initiatives.
The event introduced business leaders, human resources professionals and heads of corporate social responsibility to the Award’s programme for young people aged 14–24, which supports the development of life and employability skills including leadership, resilience and networking.
Speakers outlined ways companies can incorporate the Award into workplace development and CSR strategies, with organisers saying this could enhance employee engagement, workplace culture and talent development while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The session set out DoEIA business models that enable firms to offer the Gold Award to young employees as part of early career development. Organisers said the meeting increased corporate understanding of the Award and encouraged participation from potential new business partners as Award units.
DoEIA said Business Leaders’ Engagement sessions are intended to connect corporate executives with the global youth achievement framework and to show how businesses can equip young people with skills in leadership, service and resilience.
